Important Ordering Information

NOTE: When ordering a rebuilt or modified cylinder head, please include the following information: deck height, bore size, gasket thickness, desired C/R and RPM range, type of induction, cam specifications, type of transmission, rear gear ratio, intended application (daily driver, weekend cruiser, show, street/strip, full race, etc), and any other pertinent information. All prices are parts and labor, unless otherwise noted. Please allow 6-8 weeks.

NOTE: If you want a port divider installed, you must purchase the divider and send it with the cylinder head. If you want different valve springs, other than what we sell, you need to send them with the cylinder head as well, along with the spring specifications. If you supply the valve springs we will refund the price of our springs when the head is finished. Thanks.

Rebuilt Cylinder Heads
(prices include parts and labor, unless otherwise noted)
Standard Rebuild
$425.00
Includes stock replacement valves, brass valve guides, 302 valve springs, retainers, locks, Viton valve seals, three angle valve job, and assembly. Back-cutting the valves is optional for an extra $45 dollars (see Additional Services). All cylinder heads are hot tanked, inspected, resurfaced, and magna-fluxed prior to rebuilding. If any additional work is required, or recommended, we will give you a detailed quote before proceeding. Order
Performance Rebuild
$575.00
Includes standard rebuild (above) plus oversized 175/150 stainless steel Portflow valves, back cutting the valves, and your choice of STY (single with damper) or TOY (dual springs). See our tech article on Valve Springs for more information. Order
Standard Rebuild with 2V Conversion
$600.00

Includes standard rebuild (as above), plus milling the log manifold, filling in the low spots, and modifying the bore to except a 2V carb. Also includes your choice of billet conversion adaptors. The Holley/Weber adaptor supports the 32/36 progressive 2V carbs, while the Holley/Autolite adaptor supports Holley 350/500 and all Autolite 2V carbs. Depending on the engine build, this modification is good for an additional 15-20 horse power, over a 2 into 1 type adaptor. See our tech article and dyno results for more information. Order

Performance Rebuild with 2V Conversion
$750.00
Includes performance rebuild (as above), plus milling the log manifold, filling in the low spots, and modifying the bore to except a 2V carb. Also includes your choice of billet conversion adaptors. The Holley/Weber adaptor supports the 32/36 Progressive 2V, while the Holley/Autolite adaptor supports Holley 350/500 2V carbs, and all Autolite 2V carbs. Depending on the engine build, this modification is good for an additional 15-20 horse power. See tech article and dyno results for more information. Order
Core Charge
N/A
At the present time the customer must provide the cylinder head. Not only don't we have the time to chase down cores, they're simply not available in our area. While we have scoured the local bone yards, several times, we usually come up empty handed. Therefore, if you happen to have any good cylinder heads laying around, we may be interested in purchasing them. Please contact us via e-mail for more information. NOTE: Estimated shipping charges are listed below (towards the bottom of this page).
Misc Options
Option A - Hardened Exhaust Seats (add to rebuild prices)
$75.00
Includes the installation of new hardened exhaust seats, for use with unleaded gasoline. If you're not sure if your head has hardened seats, we recommend selecting this option. However, your money will be refunded if hardened exhaust seats are already installed.
Option B - CC and Equalize Chambers (add to rebuild prices)
$75.00
CC and resize combustion chambers, so all of chambers have precisely the same volume, thus equalizing the Compression Ratio in all cylinders. Note: The higher the compression ratio is, the more critical this becomes. Highly recommended for boosted motors.
Option C - Flow testing (add to rebuild prices)
$75.00
Once we are finished rebuilding your cylinder head, we will flow test both the intake and exhaust ports (with the intake manifold when applicable) and provide the charted results.
Option D - Port Divider (add to rebuild prices)
$150.00
Includes fitment and brazing of the port divider, and resurfacing of the exhaust surface. Note: the port divider must be provided by the customer. See tech article on Port Dividers.
Porting Options
Basic Porting (add to rebuild prices)
$100.00
Includes a light clean up and flash removal, smoothing the combustion chambers, blending the transition from the valve seat into the port bowl area, as well as gasket port matching of both the intake (OZ and CI heads only) and exhaust ports.
Performance (add to rebuild prices)
$300.00
Includes Basic Porting (as above), plus fully radius'd exhaust seat profiles, and sizing of critical areas for the specific engine build-up and rpm level. This enhances the air flow and velocity in street/strip applications, providing the best performance possible.
Street/Strip (add to rebuild prices)
$750.00
Includes Performance Porting (as above), plus fully ported and polished ports, contouring of the guide boss, fully blending the combustion chambers, and increasing port cross sectional areas. Intended for maximizing wide open throttle applications.
Full Race (add to rebuild prices)
By Quote
"Maximum Effort Porting" includes all of the work above plus modifications based on the specific application. Modifications may include relocation of valve seat pockets, the installation of larger valves and/or copper alloy seats, custom welding and build up of the ports, and so on, to achieve the full performance potential for your intended application.

Company Experience

The shop owner/operator worked for General Motors for 29 years as a Senior Engineering Associate, spending the last 17 years at the GM Proving Grounds, working in the Engine Development Group. Primarily working in the R&D department, he specialized in cylinder head, camshaft, and valve train, design and development. He also has an extensive background in drag racing, building numerous motors and several race cars over the past 36 years, for customers and for his own personal use. As such he has many hours sitting behind the wheel, as well as turning the wrenches, most recently in his "A Gas" dragster.

He has ported and assembled numerous aluminum cylinder heads for Classic Inlines, as well as several Australian 250-2V and stock cast iron log heads. He has also completed several 2V conversions and log modifications, and as such, has more experience building performance cylinder heads for the Ford small six, than any other shop in the USA. Simply put, he has the experience and knowledge to do the job right, the first time. While it may cost a bit more to have us build a head for you (mainly due to shipping fees) you'll be able to install your rebuilt cylinder head with confidence, knowing the job was done right.

If you don't have us do your head work, be very cautious selecting a shop. Working on a set of V8 heads does not qualify them as experts on the small six head. There are little tricks and issues that most shops are unaware of, simply because they do not have the proper experience. I can't tell you how many times I've had customers tell me they have a so called "expert", working on their cylinder head, only to hear nightmares several months later. And in case your wondering, we do fix their errors, however it can be very expensive.
